Minew Launches $1 Bluetooth Tracking Tags

Irvine-based Minew said late Wednesday that it has rolled a new, disposable Bluetooth tracking tag, which it says will cost $1 in large quantities. According to the company, it has partnered with fabless semiconductor company InPlay to introduce two, disposable Bluetooth tags, whcih it says are aimed at the supply chain and inventory management market. The company said its T3 Disposable Tag and i6 Disposable Tags are expected to be used for RTLS (Real-Time Location Systems) and active RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) applications. The tags have a long transmission distance of up to 328 feet.
