mobileStorm Gets Another Taker On Employee Tattoo Offer
Los Angeles-based mobileStorm, the email and mobile marketing provider headed by Jared Reitzin, has scored another taker for Reitzin's standing offer to pay employees to get a tattoo of the firm's logo. According to Reitzin, Customer Satisfaction Rep Brett Hopkins has taken advantage of the $1,000 bonus the company pays for any logo, tattooing a logo on his leg. Hopkins is the second employee at the firm--aside from Reitzin--who now has a mobileStorm tattoo on his body.
The whole idea for the tattoo bounty at the Los Angeles firm came in March, when Reitzin got his own tattoo on his ankle of the firm's logo. So far, it looks like mobileStorm is the only area firm to jump on the tattoo idea so far--although another Los Angeles firm, Boingo Wireless, took the tattoo theme and ran a fake April Fool's contest this year, complete with temporary-tattoo video, where the firm jokingly offered to give free lifetime accounts to users who would permanently tattoo that firm's own logo on their body. The mobileStorm tattoo program joins other interesting, employee motivation programs at local companies such as the "Fight Club" set up last year by Culver City-based Fonality, where it put on a mixed martial arts (MMA) tournament between its employees.
