MuckerLab Teams With Mozilla, Opens Fall Apps
Los Angeles-based startup accelerator MuckerLab announced this morning that it has teamed with Mozilla and its WebFWD program, to create a new, joint acceleration program aimed at open source entrepreneurs. According to MuckerLab, the new, joint program will offer open source entrepreneurs to create their new ventures at the group's Los Angeles offices, with a goal of transforming open source projects into business. Mozilla's WebFWD is a three month accelerator program aimed at open source entepreneurs. The two said that the link will provide open source entrepreneur teams with up to six months of mentorship from industry experts in the open source community, with three months of that time at MuckerLab. In a related move, MuckerLab said it has begun accepting applications for its upcoming 2012 fall semester. The firm's prior class included Instacanvas, Laffster, LifeCrowd, Penango, SurfAir, Retention Science, OttoLikesLab and Wallaby Financial.
