MySpace Inks Ad Deal With Auditude, MTV Networks
Los Angeles-based social networking site and online video advertising firm Auditude announced this morning that the two companies have partnered with MTV Networks to insert ads into user uploaded videos on MySpace. According to the firms, MySpace is using technology from Auditude to identify professional videos and insert video advertising. Specifically, Auditude's technology looks at user uploaded videos and automatically identifies the original content owner of those videos. The technology then allows those content owners to insert advertising and attribution information into the video. In the deal, the technology will be applied to video content from MTV Networks, which is uploaded to MySpace. The deal covers clips from MTV and COMEDY CENTRAL. Financial details of the relationship was not disclosed. Auditude is venture backed by Greylock, and was started in Los Angeles by a UCLA MBA; however, the firm is now based in Palo Alto.
