MySpace Launches March Madness Brackets
Los Angeles-based MySpace is launching a promotion centered around the upcoming NCAA March Madness basketball tournament Monday, with a promotion and $10,000 prize, the firm revealed this morning. According to MySpace, it will be giving away $10,000 to the winner of the firm's second annual MySpace Bracket Challenge, which is being sponsored by vitaminwater. The bracket game will allow users to predict the winners of all of the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament games, starting with Game 1 on Thursday, March 19th, and also will feature insights from basketball players, tournament news from FOXSports.com, mobile alerts, rankings, and more. Interestingly enough, it appears that MySpace has not inked a licensing deal with the NCAA, as it carefully avoided any references to the NCAA, "March Madness" or basketball in its announcement and web site.
