NeuroVigil Gets Funding

La Jolla-based NeuroVigil, a firm developing non-invasive wireless brain recording technology and advanced computational analysis techniques, has raised a first round of funding, the firm said this week. Amount of the funding, and source, was not disclosed. NeuroVigil said the funding came from an "anonymous American industrialist and technology visionary". NeuroVigil's technology is based on research from the Salk Instutute for Biological Studies. The firm was founded by Dr. Philip Low. According to NeuroVigil, an announcement in 2008 that NeuroVigil had raised $250K in seed funding from DFJ Frontier, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and Zone Ventures, as part of the 2008 DFJ Venture Challenge, was incorrect, and the firm did not receive any investments from those companies.
