New Matter Donates 3D Printers To STEM Program

Pasadena-based 3D printer manufacturer New Matter announced this morning that it is donating five of its MOD-t 3D printers to a science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education organization program in Downey, called the Challenger Center. According to New Matter, the Challenger Learning Center at the Columbia Memorial Space Center was awarded the 3D printers for its educational programs, with the 3D printers already being used at the center's 3D printing summer camp. The Challenger Cener says its mission is to ignite a community of critical and creative thinkers through world-class programs, inclusive events and engaging exhibits, and also serves as a national memorial to the Space Shuttle Columbia and the crew of STS-107. The center says it is just down the road from such companies as Virgin Orbit and SpaceX. New Matter is an operating company of technology incubator Idealab.
