New Sun Nutrition Finds $25M
Santa Barbara-based New Sun Nutrition, a developer and distributor of health drinks and nutritional supplements, said today that it has raised $25M in a Series A round from Oak Investment Partners. The round also included investments from Radar Partners and Thomas Weisel, chairman and CEO of Thomas Weisel Partners. New Sun Nutrition develops a energy beverage called FRS. New Sun Nutrition said that Fred Harman of Oak and Richard Rosenblatt of Demand Media have joined the company's board of directors as part of the funding; the firm also counts cyclist Lance Armstrong as a board member. New Sun was founded in 2004 with funding from the former CEO and co-founder of Balance Bar, as well as other private investors. More information »
