New York Mobile Development Firm Attracted To Silicon Beach
A New York-based provider of mobile consulting and development said Tuesday that it has opened up a new Los Angeles office, specifically to become part of the "Silicon Beach" startup scene in the area. Applico, which develops Android, iPhone, and mobile web software, said it specifically decided to open an L.A. office to gain a local presence to the thriving west coast technology scene. Applico said it is planning to staff up to 25 employees in L.A. this year, at its new offices in Santa Monica on Broadway. The firm's CEO said in a statement that LA has a "thriving entertainment and technology" industry and a "rapidly expanding tech and start-up scene" which attracted it to open the new office here.
