Newlight Technologies Gets Big Win At Dell
Irvine-based Newlight Technologies, which is developing carbon negative technology which converts greenhouse gases into plastic, has scored a big customer win this morning, with computer manufacturer Dell. According to Dell, it has started switching to using Newlight's AirCarbon, its new, carbon-negative packaging material. The move is part of an increased sustainability push for Dell. Newlight is coming off a recent funding round for Newlight, which said in April it has raised $9.2M in funding, bringing its total raised to $18M. Newlight's process takes methane from landfills and other sources and converts that into high-value PHA-based thermoplastic materials, comparable to polypropylene and polyethylene plastic.
