Nix Hydra Gets $5M For Video Games

Los Angeles-based Nix Hydra, a startup video game development company led by Lina Chen and Naomi Ladizinsky, said this morning that it has raised $5M in a Series A funding. The funding came from the Foundry Group, as well as angel investor Mike Lazerow. Nix Hydra develops video games aimed at young women, including Egg Baby and Hot Guy Alarm Clock. Nix Hydra said the new funding round will go to further develop its Egg Baby franchise, and expand into international markets. The company says the new round brings its total raised to $5.6M, including an earlier angel round from such investors as Matt Britton (MRY), Vinny Linghma (Gyft), and Brad Schwartz (Riot Games).
