Novatel Wireless Gets South African Win
San Diego-based Novatel Wireless, a provider of wireless data cards for broadband networks, has scored a win in South Africa, the firm disclosed this morning. Novatel's USB modems have been launched on Vodacom South Africa, to provide mobile broadband access to the web and email. Financial impact of the win were not disclosed. The modem will run on Vodacom's HSPA Network, and will be available through Vodacom's approved dealers and other sales channels. Vodacom provides GSM services to customers in South Africa, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho and Mozambique. Novatel Wireless develops hardware used for 3G data access.
