Obsidian Security Gets $9.5M
Newport Beach-based Obsidian Security, a new startup led by a group of cybersecurity veterans from Cylance, Carbon Blank, and the NSA, has raised $9.5M in a Series A funding, the company announced Thursday morning. The funding was led by Greylock Partners. The startup's founders include Glenn Chisholm, former EVP product organization and CTO at Cylance and CISO at Telstra; Ben Johnson, former co-founder and CTO at Carbon Black, and computer scientist at the NSA; and Matt Wolff, former Chief Data Scientist at Cylance and computer scientist at the NSA. According to Obsidian Security, it will focused on products in the area of security, artificial intelligence and hybrid-cloud technology. The new funding goes towards growing its product team.
