Phyn Starts Gathering Interest For First Product, Phyn Plus
Los Angeles-based Phyn, a startup which has developed a high tech, water monitoring device which uses a sophisticated monitoring device which allows a connection to a single water pipe to monitor the entire status of a home's water--including detecting leaks, and the water usage of very specific spigots and appliances across a home--has just started taking indications of interest for its device, ahead of release. Phyn said that it will cost around $850 for installation of its device, which will be installed by a nation wide network of trained plumbers and water specialists. The company said it will inform users who are interested in the device about the opportunity to order it, when available. The move comes as the company has quietly been running a pilot program in homes for its device, which was spun out of Belkin and its Wemo division. Phyn has been working on bringing the device to market with plumbing giant Uponor.
