Podcorn Picks Up $2.2M For Podcasting Ads
Los Angeles-based Podcorn, a new startup founded by former Famebit founders Agnez Kozera and David Kierzkowski, has raised $2.2M in a seed funding round for a new, podcast advertising venture, the company said on Monday. The funding was led by Global Founders Capital, and also included Bessemer, 500 Startups, Alumni Ventures Group, and others. According to Podcorn, it has launched a new, self-service platform which helps podcasters find and connect with brands for native sponsorships. Podcorn said the new funding will go towards product development of its advertising and distribution platform. The company said it is looking to merge influencer marketing with podcasting and drive more advertisers to connect to and discover relevant podcasters to sponsor at scale, by helping brands with native ad integration in episodes and shows, plus branded content such as topical discussions and panels with podcasters.
