PostUp Launches New Twidroyd
Pasadena-based PostUp, the Twiiter advertising firm backed by Idealab, Index Ventures, betaworks, Revolution LLC, First Round Capital, Jason Calacanis and Jeff Jarvis, said Tuesday that it has launched a new version of its Twidroyd Twitter client for Android phones. The firm--formerly known as TweetUp--acquired Twidroyd in July, along with real time link aggregator popurls. According to POstUp, the latest version of Twidroyd 4, for phones based on Google's Android operating system, includes a new live preview of links within tweets, including showing links to web pages, photos, and videos. PostUp is headed by Bill Gross, founder of Idealab. The firm allows users to increase the visibility of their updates on Twitter and other social sites via bidding, similar to bidding on search advertising placement. TweetUp renamed itself to PostUp in August.
