Power-One: Manufacturing Not Affected By Haiti Earthquake
Camarillo-based Power-One, a manufacturer of power supplies and related products, said Wednesday that the firm's manufacturing operations in the Dominican Republic were not affected by the earthquake that hit Haiti yesterday. According to Power-One, there was "no material damage" to the facility, and that operations were unaffected at its plant. The firm also said it is still planning to close the facility in the first half of the year. Power-One had said in May of last year that it was shutting down the plant, and was cutting 900 workers in the Dominican Republic as a result. The Dominican Republic shares the same island as Haiti.
