PriceRunner Launches In The U.S.
Westlake Village-based ValueClick today said that its PriceRunner division is launching its shopping comparison site here in the United States. PriceRunner is one of the leading comparison shopping sites in Europe. ValueClick said that the site went live in the second quarter, and is targeted at consumers shopping for everything from clothing and accessories, to home appliances and sports and outdoor products. The company claims that, unlike other comparison shopping sites, PriceRunner lists its product prices by lowest priced retailer first, and not just from paying retailers. The company also says that it employs actual shoppers to gather up-to-date pricing information at retailers. ValueClick acquired PriceRunner AB in August of 2004, for approximately $29M.
