Prizeo Powers Campaign With Kristen Bell
Los Angeles-based Prizeo, a startup which runs an online platform which helps celebrities raise money for their causes, has launched a campaign this morning for celebrity Kristen Bell. The campaign offers up a chance for a "platonic date" with Bell to a human rights conference. Bell was the star of the television series "Veronica Mars" and has also starred in such films as Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Fanboys, Couples Retreat, and When in Rome. Users who donate money to Bell's cause will get a chance at winning a trip to Los Angeles to meet with Bell in Los Angeles.
The campaign raises money and awareness for Invisible Children, a charity which brings awareness of the use of abducted "child soldiers" by Central African warlord Joseph Kony and his Lord's Resistance Army. Prizeo is backed by Edgar Bronfman Jr., former CEO of Warner Music Group, Ajaz Ahmed (AKQA), Michael Lynch (Visa), William Morris Endeavor, and Lady Gaga's management company, Atom Factory, and is part of Silicon Valley accelerator YCombinator. The company's founders are Bryan Baum, Leo Seigal and Andrej Pancik.
