Q3 Venture Totals Dominated By Healthcare
The Q3 Venture totals showing investments in the Southern California area totaled $401.0M last quarter, with 12 deals in July, 17 deals in August, and 11 deals in September. The most active venture firm this quarter was Enterprise Partners, with 3 deals, followed by 2 deals each for Chicago Growth Patners, Clarity Partners, Charitable Leadership Foundation, Kieretsu Forum, Redpoint Ventures, Sanderling BioMedical, Tech Coast Angels, and Western States Investment Group. The biggest deal was Amp'd Mobile which raised $67M, followed by $32M for Mpex Pharmaceuticals, $30M for TargeGen, $30 for Therox, and $20M each for Arbor Surgical and CaseStack.
