Qualcomm Sues Apple Manufacturers For Non-Payment
San Diego-based Qualcomm announced this morning that it has filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California against FIH Mobile Ltd. and Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd., (together known as Foxconn), Pegatron Corporation, Wistron Corporation, and Compal Electronics, Inc., over non-payment of royalties owed to the company for manufacturing Apple's iPhones and iPads. Qualcomm filed the lawsuit after Apple told those manufacturers to stop paying Qualcomm. Qualcomm said it is seeking an order to require all of those companies to comply with "long-standing contractual obligations" to Qualcomm, and is also seeking declaratory relief and damages.
