Rocket Lab Gets Launch Operator License From FAA
Huntington Beach-based Rocket Lab said on Thursday that it has been issued a Launch Operator License from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which will allow it to launch multiple Electronic missions--without having to re-apply for every mission. According to Rocket Lab, the license covers launches from its launches from its Launch Complex-1, which is in New Zealand. Rocket Lab said the license allows it to multiple Electron launches from LC-1 for the next 5 years, without the need for a new license every time. Rocket Lab's small rockets are used to specifically deliver small satellites -- "Cubesats" -- into space.
