Semtech Gets LoRa Wireless Win In Australia
Camarillo-based analog and mixed signal semiconductor developer Semtech reported another win with its LoRa, low power wireless networking technology, this time in Australia. Semtech said its technology is being used to create a "smart farming network" in Australia, as part of a win with the National Narrowband Network Co (NNNCo), an Australian carrier. Semtech said its technology is being used to build Internet of Things (IoT) applications in a rollout with Goanna Ag, a major Australian agriculture company, to help Australian cotton growers. Shipment volumes and financial impact of the deal were not announced. Semtech said its technology is being used to connect low cost, connected soil moisture probes to data such as local weather data and satellite imagery to optimize irrigation scheduling.
