ShareSquare Links With Amazon, Shopkick APIs
Los Angeles-based ShareSquare, the QR code marketing startup run by Matthias Galica, said Tuesday that it has linked its service to the e-commerce APIs from Amazon.com and Songkick. ShareSquare said that the new link allows marketers creating QR codes using its service to link directly to a "Buy" module for Amazon, which allows those marketers to directly link to purchases on the popular e-commerce site. In addition, ShareSquare's link with Songkick links with the Songkick API, to show a dynamic feed of upcoming events to fans from the Songkick service. ShareSquare's QR code generation service makes it easy for marketers to create QR codes, linking them to online, HTML5 web apps. QR codes are two dimensional barcodes which are easily scan-able using smartphones, and which can embed links to online URLs or web applications. The codes are being rapidly adopted by marketers, looking for an easier way to get users to more information about their products and brands.
