Skype WiFi, Powered By Boingo, Hits iOS
Skype, the provider of voice-over-IP services, is expanding its features which allow Skype users to easily connect to Wi-Fi hotspots, with a new iOS app. According to Skype, it has released Skype WiFi, a new app which helps connect Skype users with Wi-Fi hotspots around the world. Skype WiFi was formerly known as Skype Access. The software allows users to pay for Wi-Fi hotspot access using Skype Credit, and is powered by services from Santa Monica-based Boingo Wireless. Skype and Boingo first launched Skype Access back in January of 2009, saying that Skype users would have access to Boingo Wireless hotspots worldwide. The new Skype app runs on iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.
