Snap Rolls Out Search Previews
Pasadena-based Snap.com, which is operated by Idealab company Perfect Market Technologies, has rolled out a new, search preview capability to its search engine. Snap.com unveiled a new web site this morning, showing a visual image of search results on its search page. The company's new web site provides a preview of web pages when users search on a term, and with Microsoft Internet Explorer also includes a plugin that allows users to interact directly with those web sites. Snap.com also said that it has started to offer "Cost-per-Action" advertising which allows advertisers to only pay if they get results, not clicks, and launched a contest for users who come up with good marketing and advertising ideas to launch Snap. The site also said that it would award the blog that refers the winning user to its contest.
