Socialcast Confirms Round, But Headed North

Irvine-based Socialcast has confirmed the firm's recent $1.4M funding, saying late Monday that the firm raised $1M in funding from True Ventures, along with $400,000 in angel investments. However, the firm also said in conjunction with the funding, that it is moving to San Francisco. The company also confirmed that Om Malik, a Venture Partner at True Ventures and founder of GigaOm, has joined the company's board. The funding was first disclosed in a regulatory filing Tuesday morning, and first covered by socalTECH yesterday.
