Sonos Launches Commercial Music Effort

Sana Barbara-based Sonos its extending its efforts into the commercial audio space, with a new product called Sonos Pro. According to the company, the new service lets restaurants, bars, retail stores, and other businesses play music--legally--in public spaces. The company said its new service works with its existing S2-compatible speakers and systems. Commercially licensed music is a must in retail locations, with the music industry regularly extracting massive settlements and fines against retail locations which play music without securing a license, first.
