Sony Hires Cybersecurity Firm, Gets FBI Help
Culver City-based Sony Pictures Entertainment has hired a cyber security company to help it clean up and track the massive hacking of the company's corporate network, and also has the FBI on the case, according to reports today. Reuters says that Sony is tapping FireEye's Mandiant cybersecurity unit to help in the effort, which completely shut down Sony Pictures Entertainment last week--and has so far resulted in at least five films being leaked to file sharing sites. Mandiant is the company which handled the breach over at Target last year.
