SpaceX Crew Dragon Set For Splashdown Early Friday Morning

With the first launch of an astronaut-capable spacecraft by Los Angeles-based SpaceX, last weekend, was a success, SpaceX is now attempting to return its Crew Dragon spacecraft to earth this morning. According to NASA and SpaceX, at 2:32 a.m. EST, the Crew Dragon undocked from the International Space Station, and was set to splash down in the Atlantic Ocean around 8:45 a.m. EST. The Crew-1 mission is the first demonstration of the ability to deliver--and return--and astronaut to and from the ISS and Earth. The return to earth is being broadcast by NASA. If successful, the mission will help pave SpaceX's move into moving astronauts to space for the United States, which has been relying on the Russian space program for that capability since the retirement of the Space Shuttle.
