SpaceX Launch Of Koreasat-5A On Tap For Today
Hawthorne-based SpaceX is getting set to launch yet another satellite into space today, this time, a commercial payload for KT Sat, South Korea's satellite service provider. SpaceX said it plans to launch Koreasat-5A from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida today at 3:34 p.m. EDT. SpaceX will again attempt to land the first stage of the Falcon 9 on a drone ship in the Atlantic. SpaceX said Koreasat-5A will provide direct-to-home broadcast, broadband, and backhaul services on the Ku-band; the satellite was manufactured by Thales Alenia Space. SpaceX is again broadcasting the launch on its website.
