SpaceX Plans Orbital Starship Launch
Hawthorne-based rocket and spacecraft developer SpaceX has put together plans to launch a Starship into orbit from Texas, with landing off the coast of Hawaii, according to documents filed with the FCC. Timing of the launch is unclear. The documents--entitled "Starship Orbital-First Flight FCC Exhibit"--said the launch would originate in Starbase, TX, the company's operations in Boca Chica. SpaceX said the launch would both include a booster stage--which will land off the coast of Texas--as well as an Orbital Stage, which will perform a powered, targeted landing approximately 62 miles off the northwest coast of Kauai.
