SpectraFluidics Hires Systems Engineering VP

Santa Barbara-based SpectraFluidics Inc., a developer of handheld chemical-detection devices, reported Tuesday that Casey Hare has joined the firm as vice president of systems engineering. In this role, SpectraFluidics explained, Hare will function as the company’s system architect, applying his manufacturing and product development expertise in order to help its chemical detection technology reach market. SpectraFluidics is currently partnering with the U.S. Army and the University of California at Santa Barbara to develop and commercialize an advanced, field-deployable chemical sensor for explosives and contraband detection. Before joining SpectraFluidics, the company noted, Hale headed his own consulting firm. He has also been a UCSB instructor since 2004.
