Stratolaunch's Paul G. Allen Dead At 65
Paul G. Allen, the founder of Mojave-based Stratolaunch, one of Southern California's new crop of aerospace-meets-technology companies, has died at the age of 65, according to a statement from his family issued late Monday. Allen was a co-founder of Microsoft Corp., and had been battling non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The death comes just a few days after another set of successful tests by Stratolaunch in developing vehicles to deliver small satellite payloads to space; it's unclear what Allen's death means for Stratolaunch, which has been personally funded by Allen. Allen co-founded Microsoft with Bill Gates in 1975, and had a net worth of an estimated $20.7 billion.
