Strix Deploys In South Korea
Calabasas-based Strix Systems announced today that it has been selected by the Korean Highway Corp., the state-run operator of South Korea's highway infrastructure, for a test bed program to provide Wi-Fi to a highway project between Seoul and Pusan. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Strix said that the project is being used to determine a cost effective method to deliver multimedia to end-users, vehicular, and other Wi-Fi enabled devices; the network will be used for video surveillance, traffic control, and related systems. Strix said that all major wireless/Wi-Fi mesh network equipment manufacturers are involved in the pilot.
