Study Ranks ISPs, Finds Dial-Up Hours Up
Westlake Village-based J.D. Power and Associates has released its latest rating of residential Internet Service Providers (ISPs). The study finds that the number of hours dial-up users spend online is up, from 15.6 hours per week in 2004 to 17.8 hours in 2005. The study also ranked online ISPs, finding that Cox ranks highest in customer satisfaction for high speed Internet, and SBC Yahoo! ranking highest among dial-up providers. The top ranked high speed providers behind Cox were Verizon, BellSouth, and Bright House. On the dial-up side, Yahoo! led with AT&T Worldnet and Earthlink following. The study was based on a survey of 6,313 residential cusotmers of Internet service provideres, and measures customer satisfaction based on performance, reliability, cost, image, technical support, email, and offerings and promotions.
