Surf Air's First Flight Set For Wednesday
Santa Monica-based Surf Air, the all-you-can-fly airline service which is looking to connect Silicon Valley and Silicon Beach, is getting set to launch its first member flight tomorrow, Wednesday. The first flight is set to depart Burbank at 10:45am, landing in San Carlos at noon. Surf Air is hoping to make it easy for venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and other executives to make the hop between Los Angeles and Silicon Valley, on its own fleet of private airplanes. The inaugural flight comes after Surf Air received FAA clearance for operation last week. Surf Air also raised new funding to support its launch into the market. The new investors in Surf Air include Velos Partners and Base Ventures. Surf Air is led by Wade Eyerly.
