TechShop Plans Expansion Of Maker Space To Los Angeles
TechShop, a nationwide operator of membership-driven "Maker" facilities, said today that it is planning an expansion into Los Angeles, to offer up fabrication, 3D printing, and other tools and training to the local community. TechShop announced the initiative as part of the "Maker Faire" being held at the White House today, which is being hosted by President Obama. TechShop--which already runs spaces across the Bay Area, Michigan, Texas, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Virginia--also said it will be opening up a new location in St. Louis. The maker space operator did not say exactly where in Los Angeles it will open up operations, but said it is working with universities, academic institutions, companies, corporations, local government and individuals in the city on the effort.
