The Good Face Project Gets $5.65M For Beauty Startup
San Diego-based The Good Face Project, a startup focused on providing data and technology around personal care products, including maintaining a database of ingredient-level data, said last week that it raised $5.65M in a seed funding. The funding was led by VMG Catalyst, and also included Spark Growth Ventures, REDO Ventures, Capsum, and angels, including John Heffner (Summer Fridays, Drybar), Romain Gaillard (The Detox Market), plus Andy Ballester (GoFundMe). The company said its project is built on artificial intelligence, and helps cosmetic chemists provide "ingredient transparency". Brooke Kiley, Partner at VMG Catalyst has joined the board, with Hem Suri, Founding Partner at Spark Growth Ventures, joining as observer.
