Thin Line Capital Backs Solar Technology Developer
Pasadena-based venture capital investment firm Thin Line Capital, a new venture capital firm led by venture veteran Aaron Fyke, has made its first investment, in a developer of solar technology. According to Thin Line Capital, it has made an ivnestment in Sistine Solar, which is developing technology which allows solar panels to blend in visually with roofs--using a special thin film coated with "ultra-durable" graphics and patterns. The solar panel technology--which it calls "Solarskin"--allows for matching of a solar panel's pattern and color with a roof texture, and even embedding of graphics and images on those solar panels. Size of the investment was not announced. Sistine Solar is based in Boston, and is based on the research of a team out of MIT; the company's founder and CEO is Senthil Balasubramanian.
