Tinder Rolls Out Festival Mode Feature
Los Angeles-based dating app developer Tinder is making it easier to hook up with a "special friend" at music festivals this summer, saying it has launched a new in-app feature called Festival Mode. According to Tinder, the new feature will let its users "connect" with other music fans ahead of music festivals, including AEG's Hangout Fest, All Points East, Firefly and British Summer Time, among others. According to Tinder, the new feature will open around three weeks prior to the start of each music festival, and allow Tinder users to add a badge to their profile highlighting their planned music festival destination. Tinder said that feature will give users the ability to "match and chat" with others users attending the same event before they arrive. The new feature will include on-the-ground opportunities for its users to meet up at festivals, including VIP upgrades, complimentary merchandise, shareable photo opportunities and more. According to Tinder, the new feature will roll out within a number of music festivals that are run by Live Nation, including Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Las Vegas, Governors Ball, Parklife, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Lovebox, Faster Horses, HARD Summer and EDC Orlando. Tinder says it usually sees a "significant surge" in activity through those music festivals and says it is the "must-have app for singles attending music festivals around the world."
