TYLT Rolls Out Travel Charger
Los Angeles-based TYLT, the consumer electronics company related to TYLT Labs, announced today that it has started shipping a new, travel charger which combines a USB wall charger with portable battery. The company said its Energi 2K Travel Charger provides a rechargeable 2,200 mAh battery combined with ability to charge any device using USB from the wall. TYLT had initially launched the product on Kickstarter. TYLT said that it received over 1,500 backers of its project and reached over $50,000 in funding on Kickstarter for the product, its third on Kickstarter. Unlike a very large number of Kickstarter projects, TYLT was already in the business of building--and shipping--consumer electronics products. The company has been using Kickstarter to gauge interest in specific products, as opposed to floating pie-in-the-sky ideas to consumers. TYLT is related to venture investment fund TYLT Labs, which is looking to fund local startups and also help them get their products to market.
