US Lawmakers Take Aim At Venture Firms Investing In China

A U.S. House committee appears to be taking aim at U.S. venture capital firms which make investments in Chinese companies, according to a report, including San Diego-baseed Qualcommm Ventures. The letters come from the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, and express "serious concern" in four venture capital investors making investments in Chinese tech startups. The four initial targets are all well known venture investors--GGV Capital, GST Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, and Walden International. The committee appears to be concerned with investments in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and quantum computing companies based in China.
