Viewdle Gets $10M
Viewdle, the developer of cross platform, facial recognition technology backed by Santa Monica-based Anthem Ventures, has scored another round of funding, worth $10M, according to Viewdle. The new round comes from Best Buy, BlackBerry Partners Fund, and Qualcomm, in addition to Anthem Ventures, which was the original investor in the company. As part of the investment, Best Buy's Kuk Yi and Blackberry Partners Funds' John Albright have joined the company's board. Viewdle has some amount of its operations in Los Angeles, including finance and business development. The firm's technology actually came out of research at The Cybernetics Institute in Kiev, Ukraine. Anthem's Brian Mesic and Samit Varma oversee the firm's investment in Viewdle. More information »
