Virgin Orbit Lays Off Employees, Pauses All Operations

Mojave-based Virgin Orbit, the space launch company backed by Sir Richard Branson, has decided to "pause all operations", and has laid off most of its staff, according to reports. The layoffs and "pause" come after the company failed to launch a satellite mission from the UK. Reuters reports a source told it the layoffs will give the company "time to finalize a new investment plan".
