Virgin Galactic Sends Three Into Space
Mojave-based Virgin Galactic, which is developing space vehicles aimed at delivering tourists into space, completed another test flight on Friday, sending three people into space for its second, official space flight. According to Virgin Galactic, the fifth powered test flight sent the VSS Unity to its highest speed and altitude so far, carrying Chief Pilot Dave Mackay and co-pilot Michael "Sooch" Masucci, plus Beth Moses, Virgin Galactic's Chief Astronaut Instructor to 295,007 feet. Virgin Galactic says it has some 600 people lined up to follow the three into space. The flight is the first time the VSS Unity has been used to send three people to space.
