Virgin Hyperloop One Inks Study Deal In India
Los Angeles-based advanced transportation technology developer Virgin Hyperloop One has inked a partnership with the Government of Maharashtra, India, to identify potential high-speed transportation routes in the Pune area, the company said Thursday. According to Virgin Hyperloop One, it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) to identify potential routes and analyze the high-level economic impact and technical viability of hyperloop transportation solutions in India. Financial details of the MoU were not announced. According to Virgin Hyperloop One, it will explore connecting the regions of Pune and Mumbai, in a route which would reduce travel time to under 20 minutes between the two metropolitan areas.
