Western Digital Bumps Hard Drive Capacity To 8TB
Irvine-based disk drive maker Western Digital says it has bumped the upper limits of its hard drive capacity to 8TB, across its entire line of hard drives and external storage products. According to WD, it will be launching 8TB hard drive support throughout the first half of 2016, across both its popular My Cloud personal storage devices, My Book external hard drives, and other products. The increase also means that a number of its RAID based products now support 16TB in RAID 0 configuration. The first products that will be available with the new, 8TB capacity will by the My Book and My Book for Mac, which will start at $299.99.
