Willow Growth Partners Raises $28M Fund
A new, Los Angeles-based venture capital firm, Willow Growth Partners, said this week that it has raised $28M in its inaugural fund. According to the firm, the early stage venture capitl firm will invest in emerging consumer brands and supporting technologies. The fund said those investments will include beauty, health and wellness, apparel and accessories, and food and beverage. The new fund also said that so far, 75 percent of its investments have female or minority founders. Deborah Benton is Founder and Managing Partner at Willow Growth Partners, and Amanda Schutzbank is Co-founder and General Partner. Benton previously was President and COO of NastyGal and ShoeDazzle, and also served at Teleflora; Schutzbank was previously at Amplify LA and Primary Venture Partners, and also served as a VP at Karma, in addition to her time in investment banking at Merrill Lynch.
