Yahoo, Linksys Team On Phone
Irvine-based Linksys and Yahoo have teamed up to introduce a new, cordless phone with support for Yahoo Messenger and dual support for both Voice over IP and traditional phone lines, the firms said yesterday. Linksys, which is a division of Cisco, said that its new Linksys Dual-Mode Cordless Phone for Yahoo! Messenger allows customers to use both low-cost VoIP calls alongside traditional landline connections. The new phone also supports Yahoo's contact lists, integrated search with Yahoo's Local Search, and weather information. The new phone follows a number of phones that Linksys has shipped for the popular Skype voice over IP service.
